I am in Step 4, Add family & staff. When attempting to send a staff the invite to register email, I accidentally used the invite parent . The email template looks the same for parents and staff. Is there a difference when making this mistake, impacting whether a staff member can register/log in for the first time?

Yes, there's a big difference. When an invite is sent, an account for the parent or staff is automatically created in your iCare database. If the account is for a parent then it cannot be converted to a staff's and vice versa. If you don't add any data in an incorrectly created account, it wouldn't cause any problem though. That account will be simply dormant.
Please go ahead and resend invites to staff now.
